The Stage Show of Light

Boom, bang, boom.
Explosions ring in the air.
Boom, bam, bang.
Like a person whispering in my ears,
Loudly.
I love the colors I see.
Red, white, blue, green.
So many patterns.
Flowers, hearts, flags.
They save the best for last,
The finale.
Hundreds and hundreds of pops and shots in the air.
Hundreds of beautiful colors and patterns,
In the dark, night sky.
At the end,
All that's left is a lot of smoke,
And debris.
And all of this,
From hundreds of bombs,
The size of a fist.
All of this,
From the pipes nailed to the ground.
All of this,
From the people risking their lives,
For this beautiful stage show of light,
In the clear, dark sky.
